I've had some time off for a quick vacation, so for the next few days I'll be catching up on some Rutgers football news. About a week ago, Adidas and Rutgers released the promos and images for the black "Stadium Lights" uniforms that Rutgers will wear for the November 4th contest against Maryland at Yankee Stadium. The jerseys are on sale at the Adidas website for $70 at the time of this post. You can check that out at this link . I like the alternate dark Knight helmet as well as the pattern that's subtly embedded in the fabric. It gives it an Adidas feel without taking away from the overall design. Another nice feature is that the chain mail design on the sleeves is more pronounced and pretty sharp. So far, IMO Adidas is doing a stellar job on these uni designs.  

There have been two huge recent developments in terms of the image Rutgers Athletics. One was the first looks at some of the new uniforms from Adidas, and the other was the redesign of scarletknights.com Adidas The re-branding of the Scarlet Knights under the Adidas banner has begun, and so far I've been impressed. In terms of the football uniforms, there is not too much of a change, the main differences being the removal of the chain-mail look from the shoulders and sleeves as well as the addition of the New Jersey logo in the top-center of the back of the uniform between the neck and the start of the player's name. Everyone seems to feel good about having the state logo on the back. It seems the presence or lack thereof of the state logo or name has been an ongoing debate for decades.
